If you need a bespoke version
You can keep using this free tool as it is. If you need a bespoke version with your own rules, data or workflows for a website, shop or internal process, I can build it for you – for example with custom rules and data sources, approvals and exports, and website or shop integration.
How this tool calculates
The calculation uses the lower of 70 per cent of capped gross pay and 90 per cent of estimated net pay. Pension, unemployment and long-term care contributions are then deducted.

Frequently asked questions
Why is the lower of two values used?
The basic German formula limits sick pay to 70 per cent of gross pay and no more than 90 per cent of net pay.
Is the result the amount my health insurer will pay?
No. Contribution ceilings, one-off payments and your insurance circumstances may produce a different result.
